Magical White

So pretty is white

especially for a delightful chateau set amongst cool, green gardens allowing the house to be the shining star
White creates breathtaking magic when there is exquisite details
such as carving, rattan or lace

Or pannelled doors with buttoned chairs

With statement glass dressing tables and more mirrors

Amazing armoires showcasing beautiful curves

Intricate walls with pintucked quilts

A mass of white flowers in beautiful blue or green bottles

Jars filled with mother-of -pearl buttons or cutlery

Or tied up in cloth with fraying edges.

Who can deny white when artfully displayed in the details?

Rustic Dining

When searching for unusual ways to set a table with a more rustic appeal, i just loved this unusual table runner of a plank of wood. Looks fabulous combined with silver teapots holding an assortment of green and white flowers. a wonderful clash of rustic and classic.
Always love rattan placemats and finally have my own set I'll show in another post. Looks wonderful when teamed with green such as the water bottles or greenery in the table centre.
Wooden boxes, especially when stamped with text, filled with wildflowers sets a perfect scene for relaxed dining
perhaps a Sunday lunch with friends.
Hanging table would seem to be a moveable feast under your choice of tree in the forest.
If dining alone what a wonderful new take on a dinner tray,
eating a delicious soup
with rosemary and a rustic bread.
French Larkspur definitely knows how to create a magical using simple but rustic elements
As does Dreamy Whites in this lavender field.
Wire table centre with simple bottles sets a lovely scene of relaxed and peaceful dining.
Absolutely divine setting using a metal or whitewashed box to fill with garden roses for the table centre
With the printed burlap and string for serviettes
creates an exquisite setting softened by the whites and roses.
Who could resist enjoying lunch with beautiful friends on a sunny Sunday in Spring, Summer or Autumn?
Have a beautiful week mes ami!

Vanity Style

When styling in the bathroom for the

"Glamourous" look

I love to see elegant perfume bottles displayed beautifully, especially on silver trays.

Perhaps some of us have so many to display that shelves are needed

But for most of us an elegant tray seems to be the order of the day

Sometimes adding quirky ideas keeps the bathroom fun and fresh

Apothacary jars of various heights provide perfect opportunities for all those beautifully packaged soaps or layers of salts

Love the use of the smaller one for a flower largely submerged in water

For a place where we spend time making ourselves "beautiful"

It just makes sense that we start with a glamourous and inviting display in our bathroom

which can turn routine into an enjoyable event!

Jeanne d'Arc Magazines

Bonjour Mes Ami,

After enjoying the loveliest weekend sharing a delicious dinner with friends, afternoon tea in beautiful rose gardens and late afternoon drinks with more friends, then finally to share some lovely inspiration from Jeanne d'Arc ,the delightful magazine from Denmark that features a lovely, relaxed, French style look using simple, yet tastefully combined items.

(My blog header is also images from the magazine website)

A flaking garden chair has a new life indoors

(being brave enough to break from convention)

Soft greys, whites and earthy colours come together

With soft, whispy curtains and rustic chandeliers

To set the scene of a French country style

That has its own way of celebrating Easter and Christmas

Naturally of course.

Aurivoir!

Enjoy a beautiful week!

Wallpaper Magic!

For a long time now this room in a French hotel has been a favourite of mine especially mixed with gold finished furniture and wall sconces. Definitely French style magic.

Similar wallpaper with a few more tones combine perfectly with darker antiques.

Stunning, metallic blue is the perfect backdrop for pretty, pink roses.

Neutral tones again, allow the golden hues to shine.

Soft colours but a striking effect for a powder room or ensuite.

Matching blue upholstery and wallpaper sit beautifully with gold and silver accessories contrasting perfectly with rich, wooden floors.

And once again with white dado and darker wood furniture the blue wallpaper lightens and brightens.

For a slightly more modern twist on French style with bright blues making a definite statement. It all still works perfectly with the very French curtain style.

And for a bit of fun with the princesses of the house.....

Some creative bling.

When chosen carefully wallpaper can add that extra layer of detail that finishes a room perfectly. How about you? Do you have any favourites just waiting to be used?

Have a beautiful weekend.

Au Revoir Mes Ami
