Fairy Tale High Tea

Once upon a time there was the prettiest pink High Tea that ever was.....

With every pink coloured rose of the rainbow

 Elegantly wrapped in ribbon
 For all to see...
  So beautifully scented
With pink candles, place cards and personal treats
Surrounded by more rose petals and exquisite pink china
  (from Cristina Re)
Each honoured guest had their own bottle of champagne
(with only the best champagne of course)
Sparkling water set in ice crystals
Their own pot of tea and petite bottle of milk
And a feast of tiny treats fit for a princess
Oh how each guest marvelled at the delights from which to choose
So delicately presented with darling buds of pink
But of course one cannot have High Tea without a sweet cupcake or two.

Only this is not a Fairy tale
But indeed a very real and enthralling tea
For five very lucky ladies
on a sunny afternoon in March
Hosted by a beautiful and very clever lady, who allowed her passion for pink and cooking of delectable treats to be an amazing creation of loveliness.
I was one of the lucky ones to be invited!
Oh how we oohed and arhed all afternoon long, enjoying delicious treats and feeling so priviledged to be so spoilt.
Twas an afternoon to be savoured slowly and appreciated joyfully.
Truly an unforgettable experience to be tucked away in our memories of those times when time stands still
Leaving a warmth that fills the heart.
Heartfelt thanks to our generous and talented host "Little Miss Cupcake"

Tagged and More About Me

Recently I was tagged by the lovely French style blog Decor de Provence which I felt was a great honour as she has such good taste and style in French style. However I was away in beautiful Bali so I was unable to access my pictures to complete the response which is to answer 11 questions and tag 11 more beautiful blogs, so here goes.

1. Favourite room.

I just love waking up in my bedroom and seeing the chandelier in all it's glory right above our bed. I'd found it so long ago I can't remember where. It was a part or my dreams for my next home that I waited so long for that i can't believe I finally get to enjoy so many of my dreams.

2. Why did I start blogging?
I thought it would be a wonderful way to connect with other people with similar passions especially as it is so visually stimulating and enjoyable as there is so much inspiration to be found. I also enjoy having my own online diary of my passions and journey that is my record to keep and enjoy forever.

3.What is my favourite hobby?
Definitely dreaming about decor, whether it is for tables, events or houses.
4. What is my pet peeve in design?
Definitely prissy or too matchy, matchy like boring hotel rooms.

5.If there was anywhere in the world you could live - where would it be?
I love living in Perth, Western Australia but if not here I adore the Southern Highlands of Bowral, Mittagong, Robertson and the list goes on. Maybe even live at Milton Park.
6.If you had to design a home - what style would it be?
Without a doubt it would be French style like that of a beautiful chateau

7.Who is your favorite actor?

There are so many gorgeous actors but I fell in love with Kevin Costner in "The Bodyguard."

8. What is your favorite style when it comes to design?
French is always number 1 but I love it with elements of Hamptons, English and Shabby Chic.

9. How long have you been blogging for?

I started Easter 2 years ago but it still feels like yesterday. I have thoroughly enjoyed that time and have learnt so very much along the way.

10. Name five of your favorite designers?

I love Atlanta Bartlett who shows how to decorate beautifully in an all white palette and mixing styles

For a very, very long time I have been whisked away with the magic of Carolyn Quartermaine in her beautiful books. I really think she has had a huge impact on me and the world of design with her use of whimsy, soft fabrics, colour and script on fabrics.
Laura Ashley has been a profound influence on me for probably the longest and even very old catalogue books still entertain me. I love going to London and picking up extra pieces not always available in Australia. I probably could be a shareholder with the money I've spent on Laura Ashley products.
(I have all of these linen items in my daughters bedroom.)
I discovered Designers Guild not long after I got married (many years ago) and would stare endlessly at swatches of fabric dreaming what I could do.
Finally Rachel Ashwell of Shabby Chic was my bedside reading for so long that many ideas became ingrained in my memory and when planning birthdays many elements I used, I later realised I had originally seen in her books.

11.What is your favorite color?

I don't know if I need to answer that as my blog is full of it. I love how blue is so peaceful and is so beautifully found in the sky and sea. I also love white in all of its various shades but I also love pink and indulge in pink usually in my daughters room.

Now for my 11 blogs to tag.
And now for my 11 questions
Favourite 1. Music for ambience

Hampton"s Magic

In Australia we are miles behind in the screening of the show"Revenge" so please don't tell us the secrets of the story, but I, as well as millions of others, am so enjoying the beautiful homes set in the Hampton's. The background entertains us magically with the most amazing and tantalizing styling, feeding our appetites for exquisite decor and lifestyle ideas. The image above is from a show to come, featuring a clambake on the beach for a birthday celebration. It is oh so pretty with the abundant fairy lights and their version of a relaxed birthday on the beach. Makes me want to pack a decadent picnic and head for the beach while our weather allows us( as we are in autumn now).
How about you? Are you totally smitten with the Revenge styling too?
I'm off shopping for some more accessories to bring Hamptons to Australia. Bye for now!

Easter Styling Ideas

So sweet these bunny macarons from pinterest for a new twist on Easter treats.
Or these exquisitely perfect blue glass eggs for a table centre with fine dining
simple and elegant

From Donna Hay
the idea of tieing chocolates
(in muslin) to a beautiful set of branches
can easily be adapted for Easter. Perhaps in your favourite colours which for me is usually blue

Again from Pinterest, select favourite flowers to set in a jar of eggs.
How exquisite would it be
blue eggs with white flowers and lime green leaves
For a quirky twist on Easter baskets using fabric scraps

or perfectly,pretty sugar frosted rabbits.
Hope your Easter is perfectly pleasing!

A Beautiful Blue for Easter

Being always drawn to blue I simply adore how blue looks so pretty with the contrast of browns and rustic
Especially with eggs and nests
the perfect symbols of new life
But also so pretty paired with lime green

Positively perfect for the table centre piece for an Easter lunch
Wishing you all a very beautiful Easter!

Art To Enjoy!

Recently my son had begun an Art course to get into uni. Little did we know how talented he was at drawing(neither did he). So I decided to collect some of my favourites in the hope he might one day indulge me with something like these. I adore french furniture with their curves and carving and especially when finished in blues and pinks.
He loves to draw faces so I hope Audrey might get a turn.
Wouldn't a wall just like this be such a treat to enjoy during our daily rituals?
Birds, birds and more birds. I seem to have a thing for birds.

Just love Carol Gillott's french water colours.

Charlotte Hardy definitely captures the magic of French furniture and sweet little birds

I can only but hope!
